The Internet Engineering Steering Group (IESG) and the Internet Research Task Force (IRTF) Chair have decided to cancel the in-person IETF 107 Vancouver meeting.
As a result of this cancellation, the in-person Hackathon, Code Sprint, all other in-person events planned for the weekend of March 21-22, the chairs training scheduled for March 20, and all other in-person sessions during the week were cancelled.

The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) is the premier Internet standards body, developing open standards through open processes to make the Internet work better. The IETF is a large open international community of network designers, operators, vendors, and researchers concerned with the evolution of the Internet architecture and the smooth operation of the Internet.
The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) holds face-to-face meetings three times a year in locations around the world. IETF meetings generally run Saturday through Friday and include technical Working Group sessions as well as a hackathon, IETF Codesprint, newcomers’ training, technical tutorials, and multiple side events.
The Internet Architecture Board (IAB) and the Internet Research Task Force (IRTF) complement the work of the IETF by, respectively, providing long-range technical direction for Internet development and promoting research important to the Internet’s evolution.
The Internet Society provides a corporate home for the administrative entity that supports the IETF, the IAB, and the IRTF, and supports the work of these groups through a variety of programs. [Learn more about the connection between the Internet Society and the IETF.]
