Vinton Cerf, the Internet pioneer and one of our founders, will be our keynote speaker for this workshop. As one of the “Fathers of the Internet,” Vint co-designed the TCP/IP protocols and helped develop the Internet’s architecture. He is currently the Vice President and Chief Internet Evangelist for Google.
Interplanetary networks are a new and emerging field that is gaining interest and attention from both the scientific and policy communities. As humans expand our presence in space, we will need to develop new ways to communicate and share information across long distances, and interplanetary networks may hold the key.
Despite the potential benefits of interplanetary networks, there are still many political, economic, and social challenges that must be addressed. These include issues related to spectrum allocation, data privacy, and security, as well as concerns about the digital divide and unequal access to technology.
This workshop will include an open floor part where we want to hear your voice. We encourage all attendees to actively participate in the discussion and share their thoughts, opinions, and experiences. This is a great opportunity for the community to come together and exchange ideas and perspectives on this important topic.
