The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), is a specialized agency of the United Nations, the ITU is one of the many players working with partners to connect the world. The Plenipotentiary (or ‘Plenipot’ as it is called) is a conference that happens every four years to allow the ITU to set its strategic direction, finances, leadership and to make any changes needed to the organization’s constitution and convention.

Why We Participated
We were at the Plenipot to stand up for the Internet, the network of networks that is open, globally-connected, secure, and trustworthy.
No single person, business, government or entity can or should control it. A network of networks cannot be centrally controlled because it has no centre. This is not some accidental design choice we could alter: without this essential feature, we do not have the Internet at all.
