Alice Munyua, Internet Society Board Member, and Kevin G. Chege from the Africa Regional Bureau attended the 2016 Global ICT Capacity Building Symposium held in Nairobi, Kenya from the 6th to 8th of September 2016 at the Safari Park Hotel.
The Global ICT Capacity Building Symposium (CBS) is an ICT capacity development forum organised by the ITU. The Symposium brought together stakeholders from across the world to discuss trends and developments in the sector and their implications for human and institutional capacity building.
Alice Munyua made a presentation at a pre-event to the Symposium dedicated to “Capacity Building in Internet Governance”. Her presentation highlighted ISOC’s Capacity Building activities in Africa which focus on technical Internet Capacity Building and training on Internet Governance.
The Interent Society provides capacity building in Africa by providing several online courses via InForum (Internet Society’s online Learning Management System) and also by supporting several Network Operator Groups (NOGs) and National Research and Education Networks in Africa in conducting workshops and events that build skills across the continent.
