Do you know someone passionate about the open Internet who would be interested in guiding the future of the Internet Society? Are you that person?
In support of the organization’s mission, the ISOC Board of Trustees provides strategic direction, oversight, inspiration, support and advice. In consultation with the CEO, the board sets up strategic goals for the organization and helps devise a high-level action plan to reach them.
Four seats on the board become available every year. The number for each community changes annually to maintain the board’s balance. In this year’s cycle:
- 2 will be elected (or re-elected) by Internet Society Chapters
- 1 will be elected (or re-elected) by Internet Society Organizational Members
- 1 will be appointed (or re-appointed) by the IETF.
The successful candidates will serve a 3-year term commencing with ISOC’s Annual General Meeting in June, 2017.
We invite anyone interested to read about the Board of Trustees Elections and see the Call for Nominations. If you think you or someone you know has the right qualifications, please submit a nomination before the deadline, Friday, 16 December 2016 at 15:00 UTC.
More information is available in our selection procedures.
On behalf of the ISOC Nominations Committee, I invite you all to help us build a strong and active Board for the Internet Society. Consider nominating someone today!
