The Internet Society Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Gonzalo Camarillo to a three-year term on the Board of Directors of the IETF LLC.
The IETF Administration LLC (IETF LLC) provides the corporate legal home for the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), the Internet Architecture Board (IAB), and the Internet Engineering Task Force (IRTF). The IETF LLC’s responsibilities include supporting the IETF’s ongoing operations, managing the IETF’s finances and budget, raising money on behalf of the IETF, and establishing and enforcing policies.
Members of the IETF LLC Board of Directors are appointed by the Internet Society, the Internet Engineering Steering Group (IESG), and the IETF Nominating Committee (NomCom). The members now are:
- Gonzalo Camarillo (Internet Society appointee)
- Roman Danyliw (IESG appointee)
- Mirjam Kühne, Chair (NomCom appointee)
- George Michaelson (NomCom appointee)
- Shauna Turner (NomCom appointee)
Dr. Camarillo is the Head of Implementation Components at Ericsson, at the office of the CTO, where he also heads Ericsson’s OSPO (Open Source Program Office). He has held many leadership positions within the IETF and IAB and is an author on 73 RFCs. Dr. Camarillo was also previously a member of the Internet Society Board of Trustees. He holds an MBA from Aalto University Executive Education (Finland) and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Aalto University (Finland). As part of his PhD studies, he was a visitor researcher at Columbia University (USA).
Dr. Camarillo will be replacing Sean Turner, who has served two terms as the Internet Society appointee to the IETF LLC since 2019. The Internet Society Board thanks Sean Turner for his service.
