Prof Meoli Kashorda is currently the Executive Director of Kenya Education Network (KENET), the National Research and Education of Kenya. In the last 10 years, he has been leading a developing fiber-based broadband Internet connectivity to Kenyan universities and research institutions. He is also a professor of information systems at United States International University - Africa (USIU) in Kenya (on leave of absence. Since 2006, Prof Kashorda has been principal investigator for a research project measuring the E-readiness of Universities in Kenya and East Africa that includes measuring indicators of broadband Internet access and affordability indicators (see https://ereadiness.kenet.or.ke/ ). He currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors of Kenya Network Information Center (KENIC), the not-for-profit company that administers the dot ke domain names registry. He holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Nairobi and a PhD in Electronic Systems Engineering from University of Essex in England. He is a Member of the Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (MIEEE) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET).
