John Perrino

Senior Policy and Advocacy Expert

Biography

I represent the Internet Society in Washington, DC, analyzing U.S. policy developments and working with partners and policymakers around the globe to advocate for an open, secure, and trustworthy Internet for everyone.

Previously, I was the policy lead at the Stanford Internet Observatory, working to root online trust and safety policy in research and technical reality. Before joining Stanford, I led public affairs work on cybersecurity research and policy at the Glen Echo Group. I began my career working on Internet policy as a fellow at the Internet Education Foundation, helping organize and promote Capitol Hill briefings and the annual State of the Net conference.

I received my undergraduate and graduate degrees from George Washington University in political communication and public administration.

When I am not getting nerdy about Internet policy, you can find my wife teaching me how to relax at the beach with a book, probably about the Internet or baseball.
