I am the Internet Society's Global Manager, People and Culture. I am passionate about social impact — making a difference in the lives of others in my everyday interactions and in the work that I do. I get energized by being around people — learning and growing together and being of service to others.
My position plays a pivotal role in fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion within the organization, ensuring that all individuals are valued for their unique contributions and that the values of the Internet Society (Collaboration, Inclusion, Respect, People, and Passion), are reflected in our daily operations and strategic initiatives. I am responsible for executing HR strategies, leading HR initiatives, providing guidance to employees and managers, ensuring compliance with HR policies and regulations, and supporting administration requirements on a global scale.
With over 14 years of experience as an HR Professional, I have worked across various industries, from the Humanitarian (INGO) sector, Professional Services Firms (Consulting and Legal) to a Global FMCG. Prior to joining the Internet Society, I worked for Save the Children International in various capacities within HR, delivering transformational projects for children across the world. My last role was HR Business Partner looking after Technical Expertise Attraction, Retention, and Data Quality (for purposes of KPI reporting).
I also worked for ALN Kenya|Anjarwalla & Khanna (a full-service law firm) as the People & Culture Manager; Info Gain Consulting (an American IT Consulting Firm) as the Change Management and Training Lead for the implementation of a Case Management System for a Kenyan Parastatal – the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA); and Diageo (locally known as East African Breweries Limited), in different capacities within HR, with my last role being the Global HR Process Governance Lead.
Among the things I love doing the most is meticulously planning special events, traveling with my family, trying out new recipes at home and enjoying different cuisines, hosting extended family and friends, and reading books, especially autobiographies and inspirational content! I also draw fulfillment from mentoring my almost teenage daughter in navigating life through the different phases – I learn so much from her as she grows! She feels like the small sister I never had as I am the last born among my five siblings!
I am based in Nairobi, Kenya.
